Respite from a Busy Life

Lindsay and me with the Mountaineer!
Well... hello again! I have had an extremely busy semester. I've been lucky to get all of my work done and also sleep, much less have time to blog! This semester has really been a class in how to just let go and let God. I just have to rely on Him and trust that He has a plan. Even when things aren't exactly going my way, it is a comfort to know that God isn't just letting me find my own way; He is constantly guiding my path :)

That being said, here are some pictures of my year so far!

Proclaiming His Praises

Today is the first day that I lead practice for InterVarsity's worship team.... I'm a bit nervous.  So far it has been a lot more difficult than I expected.  Coming up with songs for a set and then making sure that we have music for the songs I picked has been a bit stressful.  However, I have to keep in mind the real reason that I'm doing this. To sing God's praises!  To use the talents that He has blessed me with to bless Him!  Hopefully all goes well at practice tonight, but whatever happens, we will make a joyful noise to the Lord.

I want to share something that I found in my journal from this summer:
"I am God's chosen. I am precious. I am part of His chosen generation, His royal priesthood, His holy nation. I am one of God's own special people. I am God's special person.  Therefore I must proclaim His praises because He called me out of darkness into His marvelous light!" 1 Peter 2:4,5,9,10

Next Stop- Housewife

Well guys, I am officially all moved into my apartment! (Since last Friday... Band Camp doesn't allow for blogging time :P)  Although I miss being with my friends and family back home, I love living with Lindsay again and having an additional roommate, Becca! I'm not gonna lie though, it's pretty odd having my 'own' place. Cooking and cleaning and grocery shopping basically on my own makes me have a better appreciation for my mama. However, I love being here! I get to do fun things that I couldn't do in a dorm like baking some banana bread (which I just did).  That makes me super, super excited! To bring it back in, I already know that not living in a dorm will allow me to many more opportunities for ministering to others that don't necessarily have to do with banana bread. Hopefully God will use me and my new apartment to bless others!! Love and miss you all :)

Writing is just like talking, right?

The thought came to mind in midst of preparing for my sophomore year of college that people might actually care about what's going on in my life! :P So, I decided to start a blog to kept all ya'll up to date with what is happening as I go through college.  While I am probably going to share a lot of quirky 'Mary' things with you, my main focus is to share what God is doing in my life.  He has done so soooo much already during my freshman year and I can't wait to see what He has in store for me next! :) Hope you're willing to accompany me on this journey! ;)
